Bite of Seattle Crowd (i.e. possible felons) by Jonathan Hanlon
At least that's part of the lesson we learned from reading the Seattle Times feature news story on how corrections officers and cops troll Seattle festivals like The Bite and Seafair for lapsed felons and folks with outstanding warrants. The other thing we got from reading the story was never wanting to go to another free festival again. You only have to read the first sentence of the story to be convinced, but we assure you the whole thing is filled with reasons not to attend.... The opener:
In the 11 years she has patrolled the Bite of Seattle and the Torchlight Parade, Leslie Mills has learned that free festivals aren't only popular with couples and families, but also are favorite hangouts for convicted drug dealers, sex offenders, and homeless felons on probation.
Sounds like a great afternoon with the family.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

Sounds like every day downtown, ever.
Every time I see pictures of old-time Seattle's grand civic festivals my heart weeps.
Okay, even I have to admit that this is a little cynical. I'm all for being negative, but when I saw the Times' front page, all I read is a "No shit, thanks for sensationalism."
Hmm
Hiding out in plain sight? Worked great for Radovan Karadzic all these years.
"Do you think you're safe? You're not!!!! Want to find out how to be safe? Tune in to News at 10!"
And the mainstream media wonders why people don't trust the news these days? Ha!
haha, the collective seattlest crimes would amount to 6 parking tickets.
