The Stranger's indefatigable Jonah Spangenthal-Lee gets a wonderful quote from the driver of the Subaru who ran into some (and over one) bicyclists in last Friday night's Critical Mass confrontation on Aloha on Capitol Hill: “I sympathize with [cyclists'] cause. I ride bikes too. I’m a liberal hippie democrat” [...] “I’m gay, the person with me was a lesbian and we were a attacked by eco-terrorists. It’s the most Seattle thing that could have happened." The driver apologizes for overreacting and says he hopes no charges are pressed either way. On the one hand, we're glad he has a sense of humor about it. On the other, he ran over someone and a cyclist hit him in the head with a U-lock, and charges for both are well-deserved.

Critical Mass has a pattern of attacking helpless motorists...the more non-threatening, the better. Besides the woman and children they attacked recently in Portland, this is a video THEY SHOT of them attacking an elderly couple with handicapped license plates in San Francisco. CM then heavily edited their film and sold it to a news station saying it was unedited...but the news guys figured out that CM was scamming. The assclown that did all this is the leader of San Francisco's CM group...named Jason Meggs.
Watch the video..the Critical Massholes ran the redlight, blocked the van, surrounded the van, beat on it, started rocking it to terrorize the driver, climbed UP ON THE HOOD AND KICKED IN THE WINDSHIELD along with destroying a windshield wiper and mirror and causgin other damage.

=v= The videotape of the Berkeley (note: not San Francisco) incident was not edited; the camera simply didn't start rolling until after Harlan Head drove into the crowd of bikes. He clearly proceeded into bikes and trapped a woman's foot -- how could you not see that?
