Really? Beer? I had coffee the other day, but then again, that's the difference between Seattle and Portland. I just meant as far as them slamming on brakes to let other drivers in. I gotta disagree with you on that one Troy. During STP this year the Oregon drivers were much more rude to the cyclists. I even had a half full beer can chucked at me (bounced off my leg, but soaked me pretty good).

jrickard- try going to Oregon. I'm from Seattle and I have to say that drivers are WAY better there. People in Oregon are always way too polite.

jrickard: I'd like to see Seattle drivers become something in between their current incarnation and the jerks from Chicago. There's really no call for the assmittenry that I saw on the road, which was just about as unpredictable and dangerous as some of the shit that Seattle drivers pull. eco geek: indeed. james: there were a few Wisconsin plates being jerks, too, but the majority were from Illinois. Back in the day, I was likely one of these jerks, to a degree, too.

What is it about drivers in ______ (fill in name of current location). I'm from _______ (fill in name of hometown) and I have to say that drivers are WAY better there. People here always ______ (choose one: drive to fast/drive to slow/are too rude/are too polite). It's good substitute for talking about the weather.

I'm a native Chicagoan now living in Seattle. Give me fast aggresive drivers any day over the Seattle drivers that stop on the highway to let someone merge, or stop in the middle of a busy road to let a person jaywalk or to let someone make an incredibly dangerous left turn. At least in Chicago you know what you are up against, here you never know when someone might stop in front of you.
