Can't Miss It: Wednesday

SNEER AND SNEER AGAIN: In 1989, when the rest of the world was listening to New Kids on the Block, those who knew better were listening to The Jesus and Mary Chain. A mix of punk, pop and pure distortion, this Scottish group's shows were often followed by rioting. After breaking up in 1999, the JMC is now back together. Their work has been featured in Sofia Coppela's film, Lost In Translation and popular TV show, Heroes. Older and wiser, they're kicking our asses, once again.

8:00 p.m. doors // Showbox SODO, 1700 First Ave. S. // $30-$35

RETRO-A/V: If you love old audio and visual equipment, you're going to love going to Kent. The Kent Historical Society is showing 20th Century Technology: 100 years of Multi-Media, featuring 100 years of recorders, cameras, tv's and projectors. Dress retro, take pictures.

12:00-4:00 p.m. // Kent Historical Museum, 855 E. Smith St., Kent // Free

COURTING 101: Dance the two-step and swing your little lady round. Robb Bryan and Brianne Green offer a two-step lesson prior to dancing-- no partner or experience needed. Country dancing is sweet, romantic and a little bit naughty.

7:15 p.m. lesson, 8:30 p.m. dancing // China Harbor Restaurant, 2040 Westlake Ave N // $5 lesson, $7 dance, $10 for both // 21+
