Oh wow...the national costume category is where it's at. I particularly like the five or so whose costume includes a long knife. Miss Germany looks like a beer ad. But Miss Serbia definitely has that "I hang around army bases a lot" appeal. Miss USA's is like some kind of Rockette malfunction.

also hilarious and heart-breaking?

A number of the worst evening gown offenders say they want to be fashion designers when "they grown up"--and self-designed the disasters.

Hooray sevenless for you looking at the wonder that was the National Costume contest! I concur with the stripper shoes comment and I also have no clue what Miss USA's costume was about. But the slutty native costume--from Serbia (where natives are mid-drift bearing soldiers) to my girl Bolivia (that was like Miss Mexico's slutty Aztec temple--but sluttier with much much more mesh) definitely seem to be the way to go.

I thought Miss Canada with her disco print evening gown and her cheap Halloween "slutty native" costume, may have been the most tragic of the bunch, for what its worth.

Wow. I had no idea so many national costumes included porn star shoes.

What is Miss USA's costume (#80)? Snowflake? The bright flash of an air-to-ground munition? I don't think I get it. Well, beyond skin-to-win of course--I get that. I guess it's better than the "slutty native" look Canada went with. Maybe. She should have gone with a "slutty Mt. Rushmore" along the lines of Mexico's "slutty Aztec temple."

I can't believe I scrolled through all 80 of those pictures.

If they're models, they all fit in that category.

That'd be a great Hot or Not parody site: you can either vote "feed her a cheeseburger" or "lose five pounds." There is no middle ground.

So binary! What the PI needs to bring to the table is nuance: radio buttons for Hot, Cute, Pretty, Too Much Work Done, I'd Do Her, and Butterface.

(Oh, I'm going to hell.)

I question the "Not Hot" classification for Miss Universes. I suggest a Hot / Smokin' Hottie typology.
