Kristy Lee Cook Scored a Record Deal
A little proof Kristy Lee Cook can bring it, after all, in honor of this week's holiday
CMT is reporting that American Idol's semi-local country darling Kristy Lee Cook has been signed to Aritsa Nashville. Actually, we initially got the news from dlisted, who verbally ripped Cook a new asshole and made all kinds of anti-hick slurs. We get it—Kristy Lee didn't shine as bright as fellow country chanteuse/hottie mctottie Carrie Underwood on the Idol stage, but she did deliver some far-better-than-average performances toward the end of her stay on the show. She was hardly a Sanjaya-ish performer. And she mastered the art of song choice—a gift that will likely serve her well in Nashville, where choosing the right songwriters is more than half the battle.
The first single, "15 Minutes of Shame," will probably address all the haters who will be blogging about this ala dlisted, and that makes us want to give her even more props. Just get that crap out of the way straight out of the gate, so she can move on with her career and (hopefully, with any luck) blow our socks off.
Oh, bless her heart. Seattlest has long been a horsegirl apologist, and we have to say we're kind of looking forward to seeing what she can pull off with the help of some Nashvillian star makers. We just hope they give her some movement lessons, and teach her how to bring it even when she's sick. Otherwise, she should be good to go. Good luck, Kristy Lee!
