Darcy Burner's House Destroyed by Fire

Darcy Burner, Dave Reichert's Democratic challenger in the 8th Congressional District's race, lost her home this morning to a fire. Early reports say the house was destroyed but the candidate and her family escaped without injury. We'll post more details, including photos, as soon as they are released.

**UPDATE: King 5 has video footage of the fire.

FURTHER UPDATE: From our own Brad Cassiday, who was on the scene taking photos:

According to the Redmond Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Norton, the home is a total loss. Firefighters received the call shortly before 7:30 a.m. and were on the scene in less than 10 mins. Twelve units arrived on the scene, from Redmond, Woodinville, and Eastside Fire and Rescue. A cause has not been determined, and the fire investigators were at the scene and had begun preliminary work.

There was a rumor that a cat died in the blaze, but I was told everyone (animals included) survived, so some confusion. Burner and her family left the scene soon after the blaze was contained.
