Can't Miss It: Tuesday

BEST LOCAL SHOW EVER: Okay, maybe that's too strong a statement. There are people who would argue otherwise, but Seattlest is pretty thrilled with all the bands on the bill tonight at the Tractor. It's a big ol' acousti-pop night in Ballard with Grand Hallway, Kate Tucker, Odessa Chen, and Husbands Love Your Wives. Yeah, we know. Hot action. Maybe it's not as killer as a Pearl Jam-Dave Matthews-Death Cab-Heart show would be, but it's definitely the best in local music tonight.

THAT WAS WEIRD FOR ME DAWG: No, American Idol isn't back in town auditioning our local talent. But, the next best thing is happening: a karaoke competition at the Skylark. We love the Skylark for its super nice staff and killer taste in local live music. Fish n' chips isn't bad, either. So head on over the West Seattle Bridge for and let your talent shine tonight. Who knows? You could walk away with a big prize.

CELLOS AND RECORDERS: Town Hall will be presenting the Early Music Guild Ensemble of Kiili tonight—a group of young musicians from Estonia who play recorders, flutes, cello, guitar, and percussion. According to the website, "a concert of music from the 13th through 16th century, they are joined by Estonian soprano Eve Kopli. This is the ensemble’s Seattle debut." Should be a fun, informative evening of world music.

8 p.m. // Town Hall // $20 general, $10 seniors, $5 students

NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WEDDING: We decided to follow the advice of Vanessa Williams, and saved the best for last. (You can thank us for getting that song stuck in your head later.) If the Tractor isn't your thing, perhaps the Paramount will be tonight. That's right. Billy Idol is in town, and he'll be throwing down some of those hot old school jams for those of us who don't want to leave the 80s alone. He still looks and sounds great, so it should be well worth the ticket price.

I guess I earned it getting Rhianna stuck in your head--but Vanessa Williams Saved the Best for Last Kim?!?! I know that tune is going to haunt me all week!

...sometimes the snow comes down in june, sometimes the sun goes round the moon...

Worst part? I did not have to look those lyrics up and I could have continued...!
