THAT'S SO DOPE: Dope Emporium is a free festival of all things hiphop: DJs, MCs, spoken word artists, graffiti artists, and more. It's going down as part of Artopia, an arts extravaganza in the extremely dope neighborhood of Georgetown, so hop on a bus and experience some of the best Seattle hiphop has to offer. Our picks: Candidt, Orbitron, B-Girl Bench, Waves of the Mind and Dim Mak. Hot!
2 p.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday // Georgetown, Airport Way & S. Homer // Free!
SATURDAY KNIGHTS ON FRIDAY NIGHT: Don't get confused. On Saturday, you should be at Dope Emporium. But on Friday night, which is tonight, you really need to get yourself to Nectar for The Saturday Knights' album release party, featuring rowdy/sweet/hilarious Barfly and Tilson and The Budos Band. The album is genius, so bring your willingness to rock out, sense of humor, and cash to nab your copy of Mingle.
9 p.m., Friday // Nectar, 412 N 36th St. // $10adv // 21+
COPS ON BIKES: If we had a motorcycle, please believe we would not miss the Imagine Guild Children's Ride, a Washington State Patrol-escorted motorcycle journey from Qwest Field to the White River Amphitheatre on Sunday. Not only is it awesome to be in a massive motorcycle gang for a day, but once you get to the destination, there's a classic rock concert featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd and The Marshall Tucker Band. The proceeds go to Children's Hospital.
10 a.m., Sunday // Qwest Field // $70-$130/person, register at Qwest Field beginning 6 a.m.
THE LEAST COMPLICATED: The Indigo Girls at our very own Woodland Park Zoo? They were right! Love will come to you if you wait, watch the ZooTunes calendar with an eagle eye, and buy your tickets early. This concert is sold out by a power of two, but we sincerely hope you and yours won't be missing the folk-rock goddesses' performance on Sunday evening.
5 p.m. doors, Sunday // Woodland Park Zoo // SOLD OUT, but tix on Craigslist // All Ages
