Weekend Music
It may not feel like summer in Seattle, but tomorrow afternoon is The End's Summer Camp II at Marymoor Park. It's a mix of the good (Nada Surf, MGMT), the bad (Flogging Molly, Pennywise), and the emo-ey (Armor for Sleep). Meanwhile, all weekend long Noise for the Needy marches on, raising money for Urban Rest Stop. Come tomorrow night, it's Matt and Kim, YACHT, and local band Feral Children at Neumo's. Here's a clip of the ferociously experimental indie Sarathan quintet.
Tomorrow night also brings the alt-country of the Old 97s at the Showbox, the tongue-in-cheek country of the deliciously monikered Neil Hamburger at the Sunset, and the well-crafted, rollicking, atmospheric pop of Sea Wolf with the Jealous Girlfriends at the High Dive. See? Wolf:
Sunday, you got your "foot-stompin' indie rock" care of Ha Ha Tonka at Chop Suey. Here's the band's video tour diary from last month.
Or check out the the melancholy, quirky solo girl schtick of Tiny Vipers at Nectar.
