Washington Brewers Festival This Weekend

Keg tossing, seasonal brews and kids running around with the adults could only mean one thing - the Washington Brewers Festival is here for 2008. Coming up this weekend at Saint Edwards Park, in Kenmore, WA(North side of Lake Washington), almost 200 beers will be available for your tasting pleasure. The full list is here, but we're most looking forward to the Organic Alder Smoked Coffee Stout by Elliott Bay, Scuttlebutt's 12th Anniversary Scotch Ale, Herbert's Legendary Cask Festival Ale, Pepper Pilsner from Lazy Boy(Friday only), Northern Lights Dunkel, and all of the beers from Skookum Brewery(New to us).
The festival is on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 8pm and is kid-friendly. There is also a 21+ Friday session this year, from 5pm to 9pm. There will be about a dozen "Friday only" beers, and about half of those will be cask-conditioned beers.
Tickets are $15 at the door on Friday, and $20 at the door on Saturday. You can get more details on the event, as well as info on how to buy tickets online, at http://www.washingtonbeer.com/wabf.htm. Getting there from Seattle via public transport kind of sucks, but we highly suggest doing it anyways. The festival provides free shuttle bus services from Kenmore P & R and Kingsgate P & R to Saint Edward State Park on Saturday and Sunday. See their website for more details on routes etc...
Drink up...and cross your fingers on the weather.

My fingers are crossed. I've been looking forward to this Saturday for months.

Skookum Brewing has been around for a few years and serve mostly North of Everett. I remember once, not knowing how small of an operation they were, going in search of their brew pub. Yeah right. I guess they do have a tap room now (as of 5/09/08), somewhere between Arlington and Smokey Point.
They do make a fine beer:
