The no Richardson on the ticket makes me sad, but I am hopeful he will take an important roll in Obama's cabinet.

I happen to have been an early-on John Edwards supporter, but I agree with everyone else that finds weakness in an Obama/Edwards ticket. So I'm glad he took his name off the table. I think Grounded Girl's Edwards for AG is an interesting idea. Worlds better than Hillary for AG.

I also agree that I'd like to keep as many Democratic Senators right where they are, in the Senate.

I may be flat out of VP choices, but I could live with this cabinet:

Sec of Defense: Kucinich (i kid, I kid) -- Wesley Clark, maybe Anthony Zinni?
Sec of State: Bill Richardson
National Security Advisor: Samantha Powers
Attorney General: John Edwards (give me a better idea folks)
Veteran's Affairs: Max Cleland

I could throw in a Gore at the EPA, but I won't.

I also think Joe Biden could be a nice addition somewhere, but he's a ranking Dem. Senator and I don't quite know where to fit him in this hypothetical cabinet.

Sorry, no idea whatsoever about potential economic advisers or Treasury heads.

KS from KS:

It won't be Hillary. KS is much more in line with his policies and goals for the country. Check out her history with the insurance industry.

I was going to mention the sebelius buzz, as another female running mate for Obama.
Sadly, every time I start to type her name I end up typing sebaceous, like the cyst or gland. Not the imagery you want to conjure when thinking of a strong running mate -- an infected puss ball just below the surface of your skin.

i know there's a lot of buzz about sebelius. her post-state of the union adress was boring as dirt, but she's apparently a very well-liked liberal feminist of a very white, conservative state. she just needs some charisma classes.

Obama/Edwards is off the table, as per Edwards himself (Edwards for AG all the way!). I want Richardson for Secretary of State and Biden somewhere in the cabinet mix, as well.

Obama needs someone with foreign policy experience and gravitas, perhaps an older governor who maybe was a Clinton supporter early on but came around to support Obama. (Please leave the senators alone-- we need to maintain our majority in the Senate in order to have a prayer of getting things done. Think "Supreme Court nomination process".) Don't have any names right off the top of my head, though. Curious to hear others' thoughts!

I honestly have no clue. They all make me gag.

However, a Obama/Kucinich would titillate.

Richardson's name is no longer on the list (cabinet spot instead?), and Edwards has removed himself from the running. Obama/Webb seems fairly likely, but my dream ticket is still Obama/Hagel.

I don't think the Obama/ Edwards idea is terrible, but what about Obama/ Biden or, my personal fav, Obama/ Gravel?

If Obama takes on Hillary it clouds his message as the candidate of change by falling back on the old DNC brand.

Patty Murray doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination.

I think Bill Richardson or maybe even a Chuck Schumer would get the nod, but never rule the Democratic desire to pander to the South by taking on a John Edwards-type Senator with an accent.
