Griffey Hits Home Run Number 600

Last night the clouds parted and for a moment the sun shone down on Seattle as Ken Griffey Jr. became the sixth player in baseball history to hit home run number 600.
The historic home run came off of Mt. Vernon's Mark Hendrickson, who as a Northwesterner of a certain age, grew up idolizing and cheering Junior on from the Kingdome bleachers (unless he spent his formative years writing love letters to the Taliban on his Karl Marx stationary).
Now that the (gulp) 38-year old has reached this milestone, and with Cincinnati looking to rebuild, he will once again be the subject trade rumors--some of which will mention a return to Seattle. Besides the Mariners he also shared his desire to play for a winner, and a team with Jose Vidro in the three hole does not scream contender.
We're not sure how Griffey's pranks, joking with hecklers, and constant smiling would go over in the Mariners lifeless locker room. However, we love more than anything to find out.
More coverage from: the Seattle Times, Enjoy the Enjoyment, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Deadspin, and just for fun the recent Slate article on the legacy of his Upper Deck baseball card.
Here is the video, and here is what we looked like when we found out.
