Bummer I had to miss it. I now have plans to go to Vancouver, BC to see it at UBC on 6/22, and I can't wait. Everything I've read about this film makes me very excited.

This site has a lot of information about the film's history and its restoration.

Am I the only one thinking about Fozzie Bear right now?

It's fantastic that there is now a version of Head Hunters that is closer to the original. ES Curtis's film was perhaps one of the first Docu-Dramas in the film world.

Curtis experimented with multi-media earlier, in 1911 with "The Indian Picture Opera". A stage lecture with a slide show and 21 original musical compositions composed by Henry Gilbert. This material was unearthed in 2006 in dvd, as the Indian Picture was reconstructed for educational purposes. One can search the dvd on Amazon.

All of these efforts show Curtis as one who wanted to take his passions beyond still photography. He was really more of a pioneer than he has been given credit for.
