Seattle Sounders FC Find a Sponsor in Microsoft
The first five seasons of Major League Soccer in Seattle will be brought to you by Microsoft and Xbox 360 Live. The team and the Redmond software giant announced the sponsorship today at a press conference. Microsoft has offered the Sounders $20 million for a five year sponsorship. Their sponsorship guarantees that the Sounders' uniforms will have "Xbox 360 Live" stitched across the front in a prominet place. Former Seattlest editor Seth Kolloen got a sneak peak of the uniforms at the press conference today and had this to say about them:
They are lime green, with "XBox 360 Live" across the chest in white, and a "Sounders FC" patch about where you'd put your hand to your heart. There are sea blue accents at waist level. All told, pretty sharp-looking.
Now that the team's sponsorship is secure and they've already sold 16,000 season ticket packages, it's time for the team to find a coach and some super-star players. It is only ten months, not that we're counting, until the opening day of Seattle Major League Soccer. Even sponsorship news like this makes Seattlest so much more excited!

Thanks for sending us the link to the photos Mike! We have to agree with Seth, even with the Xbox 360 across the chest, they are pretty sweet looking jerseys!

Hannauer was just on KJR and said the deposit holders were renewing at 102%, meaning people are buying more tickets than they originally paid deposits for. He expects 20,000 season tickets to be sold.
Suck on that Sonics.

Actually the colors are Rave Green & Sounder Blue as described in the logo & color fact sheet @ http://soundersfc.com/Article.aspx?id=1230&languageId=1033

Rave Green? For Real?
That reminds me when the Sonics changed their colors to include a "darker, more masculine green."

@4: Let's see how empty huge Qwest Field is in a few years when the team sucks and has been in last place for its entire lifetime.
Seattle fans are front-runners, and there's buzz around the Sounders right now. We'll see how long it lasts.
