What We Did And Didn't Do This Weekend

Some lucky ducks went to Sasquatch this weekend, and others went to Folklife. We, on the other hand, stuck very close to home: on our couch, with a painfully twisted and inflamed ankle. This happened because on Saturday, instead of celebrating international "Urban Indian"-themed arts and music at the Seattle Center, we went to a BBQ in Northgate.
That night, we did the traditional Memorial consumption of short ribs and okra (seriously! Okra!! Big Red Distribution catered this partay) and Cheeto Puffs up there in one of Seattle's non-suburb suburbs. We met some people, talked business with other people, sang the "Gin and Juice" chorus five or six times and the entirety of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" at least twice, and twisted our ankle on a curb of the "sharp dropoff" variety.
Therefore, Sunday and Monday were spent on our couch, appreciating the lovely weather through the open living room windows and catching up on The Hills. We missed Southern Kitchen's booth and the Tulalip Indian rapper at Folklife, and we missed the One Be Lo/Blu/Macklemore show on Sunday (damnit!). We didn't go bike-riding, we didn't hike (except to and from our kitchen), and we didn't get a tan. What did we do? We developed an unhealthy fascination with Lauren Conrad's eye makeup.
Those ribs were great, though! And who needs live music anyway when you've got entire seasons of unwatched Lauren vs. Heidi drama?
"Okra" by Water Tower Pisan. Thanks!
