Ridgefield Pranksters = Our New Heroes!

IMG_school%20bus0001.jpgApparently the three-day-weekend wasn't quite long enough for some pranksters in Ridgefield, Washington. School in Ridgefield was delayed for two hours this morning because someone had let the air out of the tires of the school district's entire fleet of buses. The pranksters were quite polite—not slashing the 22 buses' tires, but simply stealing the valve stems.

This prank effectively halted operations long enough for students to catch a couple hours of sleep and eat an extra bowl of cereal while their parents fretted about being late to work. We can't blame the pranksters, despite the extra day added to our weekend; we really wanted to hit the snooze button this morning.

  • See, if they would have laid hundreds of banana peels all around the buses, creating a cartoonish obstacle course, they would have had my nod of approval.

You have much higher standards of pranks Mr. Troy J Morris. I think their dedication to the prank (all of the districts buses) and the fact they didn't do any serious property damage, it's down right politeness makes it quite funny. The bus drivers got the day off, which I'm sure they are not too bummed about. Though the drivers from the neighboring district that ended up having a whole extra route to cover...I do feel sorry for them.

  • Nah. I have to agree with BigYaz here.

The bus drivers and other workers woke up to that. That ruined their morning.

If the prank had been funny, then sure, why not? But it's stale. I would have been pissed. Don't ruin my day with a crappy prank.

Gee, you must be a lot of fun at parties.

I was just thinking if I worked for a school and this happened I would be amused, at most. They broke a $10 lock, big deal. Nothing gets done on the first day back after memorial day anyway.

Given the harmful things the schools are doing to kids these days, I applaud (almost) any attempt by the students to give the administration a hard time.

Hopefully these "pranksters" will be caught so they can pay the hours of overtime required for the bus drivers, the lock they broke to break into the lot, etc. Plus, school staff members have to waste a lot of time on this when they could be working on, you know, education.

Finally, it's really an old, tired prank. At least they could have been original.
