Another Severed Foot Washes Ashore in B.C.

Boy legs/Girl legs Another severed human foot has washed ashore on an island in British Columbia. Surprisingly, "severed human foot" isn't the most important part of that first sentence..."another" is. Another, as in this is not the first severed human foot to wash ashore in B.C. In fact, it is the fourth severed foot that has been found since September. Just as the three feet found before it, this one still had a tennis shoe on when it was found. No word yet if it was a right foot like all the others.

Perhaps most shocking of all, to Seattlest, is that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigating the latest severed foot aren't convinced it has anything to do with the other three. About the possible connections, Cpl. Nycki Basra, a spokesperson for the Mounties, says, "Right now, it's much too early to speculate." Which makes us wonder if severed feet wash up on Canadian beaches all the time.

Furthermore, if the feet are not related, it means there are multiple people severing feet and setting them afloat...so we're hoping there is a connection. Otherwise, next time we're in Canada, we're keeping a close eye on our feet. We're kind of attached to them.

A Seattlest is a cereal foot-fetishist.

Oh, and serial, too.

The theory is that feet wash up *because* they are in shoes. When someone goes overboard the fish eat everything they can get at leaving the feet free to "roam." So don't worry, your feet are the safest part of you!

I believe that theory, but it still doesn't explain why so many feet are washing ashore lately. Has there been a rash of overboard ferry passengers? Alsaka cruise lines? Jumpers from the Lions Gate Bridge? Very odd.

This has the potential to be very freaky.
