Exactly one month ago, Seattlest told you about the fastest speeder ever clocked on I-5 at a whopping 164 mph. The driver of the speeding motorcycle, Ben Howard Kelly, was arrested on I-5, but claimed he had digital camera footage of his record-setting and law-breaking ride.
Seattlest commenter Romulus led the cry for video proof of the incident saying, "He taped himself doing it. The people demand YouTubage!" Well, dear commenter, you ask and you shall receive. A YouTube user conveniently named "benhowardkelly," has posted digital footage of the supposed incident. Included with the video was this note: "Me taking my Honda CBR600RR out for a test run. I got pulled over shortly after, and this video got me convicted of careless driving and reckless endangering. I advise other bike riders to obey the posted speed limits." Watching the bike's speedometer made Seattlest's heart palpitate. We don't advise combining it with your morning coffee.

i think you meant 'speedometer' rather than 'odometer' - and is it possible to verify that the speed is in MPH, not KMPH??? hard to tell from my viewpoint...
At the end when he has to slow down to around 60... if it were in kilometers/hour, that would mean the surrounding traffic would be creeping along I-5 at around 37mph. I think its safe to assume that's not the case here.
I'm going to go ahead and believe that idiot was going 163mph.
I also thought that maybe the rider was pulling a fast one and had the speedometer set to km/hour, but since the rider has to slow down to around 70 to match the speed of moving traffic, it would seem that the video is legit.
Which means that Darwin was asleep at the switch that day, because OMG what an f**kin' asshat...
See where he passed on right (around the 40 sec mark)? If that white SUV had seen the rider coming up on his ass and gotten over, it would've been curtains for Mr. Asshat.
