Reasons to Drink Beer in the Sun This Weekend

Looking for a way to get out and enjoy some beer with the nice weather this weekend? You've probably got it all figured out, but here are a few ideas anyways:

University District Street Fair - Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (6 p.m. Sunday). Nearly 400 craft and food tents to browse, plus live music and other events. The Big Time Brewery beer tent will be the place to be to grab a pint. They'll be set up right in front of the brewery, and they'll be pouring this year's Ave Rat Malt Liquor. Can't think of a better place to enjoy a great Big Time IPA than sitting out in the sun (hopefully).

Two Beers Brewery at the Park Pub - This Sunday, May 18, from 3-10 p.m., the Park Pub (614 Phinney Ave N.) will be serving up this new Seattle brewery's Immersion Amber Ale, 20:20 Blonde Ale and Crooked Belgian Wit, and possibly a sneak-peak of another beer. There will also be door prizes, an outdoor BBQ, and Two Beers merchandise will be available. $1 from every pint will go towards recovery homes for alcoholics.

Mariners vs. San Diego Padres at Safeco Field - The Mariners suck. But, you know what? There is nothing like drinking beer in a ballpark in the sun. The San Diego Padres are coming to town for an interleague series, and their record is actually as bad as the Mariners. The M's could pull off a win. Friday is J.J. Putz bobblehead night (why do people love these so much?), so we'd stay away. But, Saturday night still has tickets available in the left field bleachers for $15. There are more than 20 different beers on draft at Safeco, so you won't have a problem finding something good (Bridgeport IPA is our fave at the park).
