Pagliacci Benefit Tonight at Neumo's
Just before lunch we were bicycling down Broadway and this guy on the sidewalk asked us where the place was you can buy pizza by the slice. "Pagliacci," we called back.
"What's to-day, my fine fellow?" he asked. "To-day!" we replied. "Why, Christmas Day!"
That last part was not quite true. But it's like Christmas because Pagliacci Pizza is hosting a concert benefit, “A Night for Elise," at Neumo’s tonight, and that seems really nice.
After Elise Kinnamon, a general manager at a Pagliacci pizzeria, was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, people kept asking Matt Galvin, owner of Pagliacci Pizza, what they could to help. (Kinnamon has returned home from a 2-month hospital stay to be with her husband, Cameron, and 4-year-old son, Jasper.)
Galvin decided Pagliacci would host a benefit, with all proceeds going toward Elise’s medical bills and to create a trust fund for Jasper. (Donations also can be made directly to Elise Kinnamon, c/o Pagliacci Pizza, 423 E. Pike Street / Seattle, WA 98122.)
Tickets are just $5. There will be a silent auction and three Seattle bands (whose members include current and former Pagliacci crew): Iceage Cobra, Thunderbird Motel, and Rad Touch. Doors open at 8 p.m., the music starts at 9 p.m.
