Spring blossoms unfurl in the foreground while that lovely building that typewriter magnate L.C. Smith built looms out of focus in the background. Ivar himself owned the building at one point, buying it 22 years ago this month "because he liked it". We'd like to buy it too because we like it as well, why not:

When it opened [1914], the Smith Tower contained the latest conveniences of the time, including: lavatories on every floor, telephone, telegraph, wireless and cable offices. It also featured shops and restaurants. It is still famous for the richness of its lobby interior, paneled with Pedrara onyx, the ornate steel cage elevator cabs (by the Otis Elevator Company), upper floor lobbies clad in marble, as well as the Chinese Room, located on the thirty fifth floor of the building. Thanks for sharing your photo of two things we love about this city!
