Autobahn at Re-Bar This Weekend (and Next)

655446984_71817a9c94.jpgFourteen very talented actors and directors have come together to perform Neil LaBute's Autobahn, a collection of five scenes that do what LaBute does best: take a very raw look at personal relationships.

All of the scenes are set in the front seat of a car, and highlight conflict between two people--most with only one of the actors speaking. The stories take place in the aftermath of an event that has left the characters with different temperaments. The event is a mystery to the audience, with the details slowly being revealed.

While we enjoyed all of the scenes, our favorites were "Merge" and "Long Division." In "Merge," the two harried characters enter the car looking like they are about to embark on a chase, and ends quite wonderfully in the world of domestic life. In the very funny "Long Division," we were taken through both the steps of male recovery following a break-up: sadness, anger, and revenge, and also the feelings within a male friendship: happiness, anger, annoyance, and of course talking someone into doing something.

The show runs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. through May 10 at Re-Bar.
