Ludacris Added To Bumbershoot
Late summer festival/extravaganza Bumbershoot announced another hiphop headliner today. Ludacris, the one and only, has been added to the line-up! The other three rap-alicious big names thus far are Brother Ali, whose recent show at Neumos was nigh unto a spiritual experience for Seattlest, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, and Kid Sister out of Chicago. Unless, of course, you count Beck as a rapper. (We don't.)
Says Seattle hiphop artist Grynch to Seattlest on the line-up: "I think it's shaping up to be a good one. That's my favorite time of year in Seattle, hands down. I almost died in the crowd for Wu-Tang last year, though. I can't wait to see the rest of the line-up....Hopefully Grynch will be performing this year. That'd be dope."
And his opinionated co-conspirator, DJ Nphared: "I am a huge fan of the diversity of the acts this year. The addition of Ludacris is definitely a surprise, but one that I'm glad was made. Kid Sister and Del should also be a dope and I'll get to make up for my absence at Brother Ali's last trip through Seattle. I hope to be performing in some capacity during the event, but I will be in definite "fan mode" during the weekend. It'll be interesting to see if this year's experience tops last year's, which included myself, Grynch and Gatsby of CR foolishly going front row for Lupe and Wu-Tang."
The line-up of local hiphop artists may not be officially announced until July.
"When I move, you move... Just like that!" Some Ludacris, Chicken-N-Beer style, for your afternoon listening pleasure:
