Hungover Spring, Slow to Get to Work

So far, spring has been colder than the Mariners' bats. We’re not advocating global warming, just a little regional pick-me-up, something to get people dressing sluttier and make outdoor activities appealing.
Given the three odd weekends of sun we had last summer coupled with summer ending earlier than usual, it doesn’t take much sun depravation here before folks start getting antsy.
The average temperature for April was down from last year. And, given the generous snow and kick-ass winter in the passes, the back country hiking season will be considerably shorter than last year. More skiing for less hiking is a worthwhile trade-off; a good winter almost makes up for a lousy summer. The benefits of gloom for the sake of gloom, however, remain to be seen from the recreational/flirting point of view down here at sea level.
Lets all hope Spring can shake off the hangover and gets its shit together before the collective paleness of the city turns us all into a bunch of vitamin D-seeking zombies.
