The East Coast got two new toys this month and Seattle didn't get any. We didn't even get a Microsoft/Yahoo buy-out like we were promised.
Why can't Seattle get a bike-sharing program of our own, a la Washington, D.C.'s new "SmartBike DC"? Our city has a dedicated (at times, frighteningly dedicated) cadre of bicyclists who will shoot down objections that Seattle's just not bike-friendly. If we can embrace Zipcar, as undoubtedly Seattle has, we should be able to get a "SmartBike Seattle" program up and running successfully in no time.
If we aren't allowed to get a bike-sharing program, then we should at least get a Google Maps-powered guide to beer in Seattle like New York City's blissful new "BeerMenus" site. Our microbrew culture is more popular than Jesus bike commutes; there is no good reason why the best of Seattle tech has not yet shacked up with the best of Pacific NW beer to bring Seattlites a user-friendly, graphics-glorious way to find our favorite beers on tap.
We also want a pony and a new Alaskan Way Viaduct.
Anyone?

Friendly Folk-Pop for the Kids: Hey Marseilles at Vera This Saturday

saw this all over the place today. was so excited.
went to the site. it was only for nyc!
for one second i was sad to have left. but only 1.
nice photo! 'twas a good holiday season for beer, it was.
I want some Elysian Thing-A-Ma-Bob. Sounds tantalizing.
In a perfect world, this is a great idea. In reality, where even certain pubs can't keep an updated list, this is quite ambitious. I wish them luck though. Would be interesting to see how correct their lists are in a few months.
This would never work in Seattle. The drinkers here are just way too lazy and content.
