Strange bedfellows Urban Outfitters and Toyota Motor Sales are teaming up—as they did last year—to "support and publicize" the audio goodness that is independent radio. Again dubbed Free Yr Radio, this effort means free live music in 10 American cities, including Seattle.
Our city's beneficiary is KEXP. Awareness-raising live music will be courtesy of Mudhoney—who'll release their eighth full-length album, The Lucky Ones, and reissue the legendary Superfuzz Bigmuff on May 20—and No Age. Though PR peeps say the July 23 show will take place at an undisclosed, "new special location," it's assumed that the concert will be performed inside an Urban Outfitters store; that's where The Long Winters played Yr Radio last year. Damn if we won't find it odd, though, if ultra-give-a-fuck Mudhoney really does play ultra-trendy UO.
Hate fuzzy punk-rock? Hate indie radio? You can always try to win a Yaris.
