What's a Reality TV Addict to Do?

It's Wednesday, which means we'll have to sit down for American Idol results tonight (after getting home from the Ani DiFranco show) without any local hottie to be nervous for. It's probably for the best. It's Andrew Lloyd Webber week, after all, and Kristy Lee Cook was supposedly planning on doing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina." That would probably not have gone very well, if the other Cook's creepy performance of "Music of the Night" was any indication.

Actually, it wasn't as painful a night as we'd expected, but the scales did tip in a very odd way. Syesha Mercado, who had previously shown zero depth or personality onstage, seriously brought it with "One Rock and Roll Too Many." Carly—darling perfect, unbeatable Carly—delivered hardcore with "Jesus Christ Superstar." Witness:

Archuleta was boring, and Brooke White screwed up the words and had to start over. Who's going home? Well, without a Kristy Lee to predict into the bottom three, we'll go out on a limb and say that White will be joined by Jason Castro (finally!) and, unfortunately, Carly Smithson. Carly will be safe, since Castro and White did so awfully, and White will probably get cut.

When that's all over, we'll have to tune into Top Chef with no friend of a friend of a friend former Seattleite to put all our hope into. The local girl got kicked off of America's Next Top Model.... We realize there are a thousand other reasons to glue ourselves to reality TV than just to cheer for locals. But still, we want to see a local on So You Think You Can Dance next month—is that too much to ask?
