The Question Every One's Asking Today
"What did you do on Saturday?"
Always with a smile, we've asked--and have been asked--this question many many times today. It seems everyone around us is genuinely interested and excited to hear what we were up to during our glorious sunny Saturday.
Us? Once we finished mowing the lawn for the first time this year, we packed a sandwich, a book, some tunes, a thermos of Tanqueray & tonic, and biked down to Richmond Beach where the kites were flying, the dogs were chasing, and the people were doing whatever made them happy.
We relaxed, drank our gin, and generally laid about in a state of buzzed happiness (don't worry--the wife picked us up).
As we've read, we know that Charles and his wife took a stroll down the new Burke-Gilman Trail extension in Ballard. Now what about the rest of you?
How did you spend your time during this much-needed gift from the sun gods?

Started out at a wine tasting, drove around aimlessly with the windows down, enjoyed the outdoors at Ravenna Park, ate me some Burgermaster, and then BBQed in the backyard. More please!

Stressful conversation with my housemate, Pop Conference, waited 40 min for a bus that never came, chicken satay at Jamjuree w/Grynch, nap. Then RJD2. The only time I spent outside was while waiting for the #8, and I did appreciate the weather... the real heat was inside Chop Suey which was so hot I could have fried an egg in mid-air, if I'd had an egg.

My friend waited for the 8 too, but it never showed.... weird.

Walked down to Alki, which of course everyone else in West Seattle had also done. Time slipped away and so did the margaritas I'd hoped for... but the Pyramid beer garden was a perfect substitute. Wrapped things up at Safeco, where the garlic fries were insanely garlic-y and the Mariners actually won.

I spent the day caucusing...and spent every break in my day of politicking absorbing as much sunshine as possible. They were few and far between. I still have a glow in the dark complexion until out next sunny day. When will that be??

Walked down Lake Union to the in-progress SLU Park. Gorgeous and 78 deg F, blue skies and blue water, calm and peaceful, watched the boats, got a nice tan, all while rocking out to BassDrive via HSPDA. Left when hordes of people started arriving, seemed to be some kind of benefit going on that night... Best I'd felt all week!

we had a backyard party.

Spent the morning skiing at Snoqualmie. Absolutely beautiful day to be out in the mountains for a morning like that.
Then, hit Snoqualmie Falls Brewery and Rogue Issaquah on the way home. Spent the evening BBQ'ing on the porch, relaxing, reading and enjoying a growler of Spring Fever. Just a wonderful day.

Had a friend in town from Chicago. Convinced him that every weekend is like this (not sure if he believed it). Strolled from our place in C Hill to the ferry landing, with many shopping/eating stops along the way. Took the ferry to Bainbridge....continued to eat/drink further....ended the night with an outside bbq in Phinney. All in all, just splendid.

We extended your meme to Capitol Hill -- but not on Saturday. On Saturday, we ate donuts and played at Volunteer Park.
