Seattleites and soccer fans alike are abuzz at the possibility of Seattle's yet-to-be-named Major League Soccer team being led by one of international soccer's biggest stars. Thierry Henry is an international sensation, having played for the World Cup-winning French national team and a number of Europe's best professional teams (including Arsenal and FC Barcelona).
Speculation that Henry might be making his way to Seattle lit up sports blogs last month. A number of sites reported that Seattle was in advanced talks with the superstar striker. The London Sun further increased the buzz this week when they reported that Seattle has offered Henry nearly $300,000 per week salary to play in the U.S.
This soccer fan is hoping we get word on Henry tomorrow at a scheduled Seattle Major League Soccer news conference, where the team's official names and colors will be announced.
