yeah, you're supposed to talk about why you're supporting the candidate. people are voting for the candidate, but they're also voting for the reasons you support the candidate, so that they can gauge whether you're going to represent your district appropriately when it comes to things like resolutions and whatnot (i believe). i'm really no expert on the topic, but that's what we were told at caucus training.

I'm still not quite sure what to put in a delegate speech. Do you go on about the candidate (or the other one)? Do you go on about yourself (why)? Do you go on about why you support the candidate (makes most sense to me)?

I'm a delegate and I've volunteered for the credentials committee. We had our training last night. It's going to be a ZOO, people. Doors don't open until 9 but once you're there, prepare to engage in full body contact democratic process. I had been planning to run for national delegate, but I don't have that much patience for speechifying. I'm offering to tally votes instead. Pack a lunch. (Look! I totally refrained from talking up my candidate! And no, I haven't changed my mind about who I'm supporting.)
