Tacoma House Explosion Related to Domestic Violence?

A Lakewood, Wash., 17-year-old and her infant son are lucky to be alive after a natural gas explosion blew their home off its foundation Wednesday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., Kristine Manues came home and noticed the smell of gas, so she went to a neighbor's house. Within five minutes of leaving her home, infant in her arms, an explosion rocked the neighborhood.

Lakewood Police believe the explosion was no accident and arrested Manues' ex-boyfriend on suspicion of arson and burglary. He was spotted by several witnesses leaving the home just before Manues arrived. If investigators believe the ex-boyfriend thought Manues and her son would be in the house at the time of explosion, the prosecutor will add attempted murder to the list of charges he is facing. Manues had a restraining order on her ex-boyfriend because of a history of domestic violence.
