Why Didn't Someone Tell Us Eddie Vedder Was Playing Kenyon Hall?

Vedder1.jpg

Everyone knows Seattlest loves Pearl Jam. Which means we love Eddie Vedder. Which means we would have loved to see him play a tiny little venue in West Seattle on Monday night. And last night. Since this Seattlest lives in the neighborhood and all, we could have freaking walked to Kenyon Hall.

But no. We weren't in the know. And, ignorantly, we decided to stay home Monday night. And last night, we decided to do happy hour in Seattle proper rather than stop by Easy Street for our weekly browse. Turns out our favorite record store was selling $5 tickets to an "Into the Wild event"—nay, two events—at Kenyon Hall.

The "event" was Eddie Vedder and an acoustic instrument or two. He played about 15 songs—Into the Wild stuff, Pearl Jam stuff, a few covers—before a lucky crowd of about 120, for about an hour. Both nights. Yes, a poster was even produced for the shows.

Boy, are we ruing those margaritas.

Anyone with more connections—and less interest in alcohol—than Seattlest see one of these shows? (Yes, we're jealous, but genuinely happy for you, too.)

You and I both, Abbey. It's a travesty.

Thankfully, there's Vancouver. Though it doesn't quite make up for missing this.

    Glad you made it, pinto!

also, LOVE the Obama button on his jacket in the poster! So much better than "Rock-Around-Barack!"

I was there for the Monday night show, it was truly amazing. I happened to notice the little; tiny sign in Easy Street last week while I was there and had an idea that it may be a secret show so I snagged tickets. Luckily it was. Great to see it in such an intimate setting; he sounded great. Definitely wish there would also be a non-secret show so everyone could get a chance to enjoy it as well.

what? how did I not know about this? On Monday night as this was happening my best friend and I, an obsessive Pearl Jam fan if there ever was one, were ruing no Seattle Eddie Vedder shows!
