Kristy Lee Finally Brought It. Finally!

Okay, granted it was a song we hate, but we're glad we held out some hope for Kristy Lee Cook so long. She finally picked the perfect song for her. As Simon noted, "God Bless the USA" was a very interesting song choice. It will nail her the veteran vote, the redneck vote, the rural vote. We feel confident that, if Hillary could sing like that on that song, she would nail the nomination. But, we all know Hillary can't sing.

It was hott. She talked about having been born in Seattle--a nice shout-out. We learned that she got her good looks from her hottie dad. And then, first of all, she looked great, she knew she nailed it. There were a couple of moderately pitchy moments, but we'll be shocked if she even winds up in the bottom two tonight. She held that last killer note for about 15 minutes. So at the very least, it'll end her near-losing streak, setting her up finely for country week next and mentoring sessions with Dolly Parton (heeeey!). Here's the video:

As for everyone else, it was an off night. The theme was "Songs From the Year You Were Born." Our new AI girlfriend Carly Smithson delivered nicely on "Total Eclipse of the Heart," even though she blew the last note. Archuleta sang a song that sounded, as Simon noted, like a song from a Disney parade. It was obnoxious. Chikezie was boring, Syesha was boring, Ramiele resurrected "Alone," which the hotness that is Carrie Underwood famously ripped to shreds (in the good way) during her season. Ramiele didn't deliver. Jason Castro whispered through some song we've never heard of before. Michael Johns killed Freddie Mercury all over again (in the bad way). It was an off night all around. Yet, the judges praised every single thing. Lame.

You forgot about David Cook! Didn't you see the last 5 minutes? I agree it was an off night for most of the night, but you gotta admit David Cook's performance was pretty cool.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

i totally forgot about david cook, which i think is his problem. at least with me. i never remember him.

I don't think I've ever heard her (maybe during auditions), but I already hate her.
