Get Out: Moisture Festival, March 27-April 13
Starting tomorrow- the Moisture Festival!
The festival is in its fifth year and has hosted burlesque and variety acts from all over the world. Lively, exciting, full of tricks and dark magic, these live performances are worth leaving your house, even in the pouring rain.
Presented like a variety show, you'll see an evening of colorful acts: dancers, aerialists, clowns, can-can girls, comedians, rope acts and burlesque.
You’ll enjoy the breadth of Seattle talent, including: Chickee and Boom-Boom (comedy), Artis the Spoonman (spoons and musical tricks), David Godsey (UMO Co-founder) and Circus Contraption, Seattle's favorite darkly presented one-ring circus. Plus, Circus Contraption’s ringmaster is so creepy he makes us shiver.
Want bigger clowns with bigger names? You can also enjoy the juggling of the Flying Karamazov brothers or Hacki Ginda. Want to see if the French really do have a sense of humor? Head out for Iman Lizarazu who claims to be hilarious, if her degree in astrophysics doesn't get in the way.
Burlesque features some of Seattle's hottest: Tamara the Trapeeze lady, Paula the Sweedish Houswife and Indigo Blue. Come for the flesh, stay for the art.
The Comedy/Varietè shows start at 7:30pm and are at Hale's Palladium, in the Hale's Brewery warehouse located between Fremont and Ballard at 4301 Leary Way NW. The Bulesque is at 7:30 and 10:30pm, down at ACT Theater in the convention center complex starting Thusday, April 3rd.
