Zion I, Mistah F.A.B. @ Chop Suey Tonight

In preparation for the Zion I and Mistah F.A.B. show at Chop Suey tonight, Seattlest has been stalking AmpLive a little bit. It's not hard. The producer half of Zion I gained wide-spread notoriety for releasing (at first, sans permission) a collection of chill Radiohead In Rainbows remixes for free on his website; he's also contributed beats to some of our favorite reality tv shows, including America's Next Top Model (!!!) and The Real World. "I have always wanted to do a song using a harp," AmpLive told Evolving Music earlier this month. Now we HAVE to go to the show, just in case there's some harp action.

Zion himself is firmly in the conscious rap camp with some Oakland thrown in for good measure, and Mistah F.A.B. ("Forever After Bread," as in financial dough) is a hyphy but hard bundle of lifestyle contradictions with flow to be proud of. Check out that guy's flashy grill and you'll know he means business. J. Pinder and Scribes are opening up the evening, so don't get there too late for your early spring dose of the Bay Area hiphop scene.

From our new favorite music networking site, a video of Zion I and The Grouch doing their thing:
