It's Not About Whether Greg Can Fix the Potholes. It's About Whether You Will Call Them In.

Mayors hate potholes. In fact, today Mayor Greg Nickels announced an "aggressive" pothole-filling campaign to fix more than 1,300 potholes this week. You can visit the online form or just call (206) 684-ROAD. Says KING 5:
Six crews are ready to get to work with two on standby. The city promises if you report a pothole, they will fill it within 48 hours. In addition to pothole patrol, crews will also be resurfacing 30 miles of roadway and replacing old street signs throughout the city.
This spring has been particularly potholey, it seems to us, no doubt because of the heavy rains the last two winters. We've seen deeper and bigger potholes popping up all over. The patches are a temporary fix, but if you hit that same damn pothole every day, a welcome one.

We became a pothole snitch this morning. We turned in the huge holes alongside Cal Anderson, in front of Vivace, thanks to "encouragement" from a commenter on an earlier pothole post:

instead of complaining about the potholes in a blog posting maybe you should fill out the online form and report them so they get fixed. but that might be too easy and would give you nothing to whine about.
