Geraldine Ferraro on the Huskies Pac 10 Tournament Loss
Geraldine Ferraro, who claims that a black guy named Barack Obama has an advantage in running for president in America, something pretty similar to what she said about Jesse Jackson in 1988, was reluctantly shit-canned by the Clinton campaign. Presumably for not being negative enough. Luckily for us, Ferraro is a huge Husky basketball fan and agreed to share her thoughts on UDub's opening round loss 84-81 loss to Cal in the Pac Ten Tournament.
When I first heard the news that Jon Brockman was going to miss last night’s game against Cal, I got a very bad feeling. He and Kevin Love are clearly the best players in the league, and Brockman is probably the best Husky player since Todd McCullough.
Sure Artem Wallace and Joe Wolfinger are more than capable of filling in for Brockman, but I had a bad feeling that Coach Romar would rely too much on a vastly inferior Matthew Bryan Amaning.
Of course MBA gets into foul trouble leaving the defense vulnerable, hurting them on the glass, and forcing them into a zone which helped Cal create shots--including their 16-0 run that wiped out the Huskies twelve-point lead.
Then again Coach Romar loves his precious zone. He almost cost the Huskies the last time UDub met Cal, by not switching to a man-to-man as the Golden Bears shot their back into the game. Bob Bender knew what he was doing, in fact so did Lynn Nance, Andy Russo and every other coach the Huskies have had.
If they were were smart, they would dump Romar and hire his former assistant Ken Bone, who just lead Portland State to their first tournament appearance. But apparently they have different views over at that athletic department.
Thank God for Ryan Appleby and his three-point shooting, otherwise this game would have turned into a rout. He is the only competent guard on the Huskies. I look at next year's backcourt and I shudder. I mean Isiah Thomas, the name alone terrifies me.
If this team ever wants to regain the form it had just a few years ago when Mike Jensen and Zane Potter were leading the Huskies deep into the NCAA Tournament, it better find a self-righteous, blind to their own ignorance and inability to shut their fucking mouth when they should really just climb under a rock attitude that makes a person truly great.
All in all the game was better than last night's Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

What are you smoking?
Keith was awesome last night... and who cares what Geraldine, the racist, says...
It's idiots like her that make this country so polarized!
