Thought you guys might be interested to know that SeeClickFix has started to get some use and results south of you in Olympia. You should create a watch area around Seattle and attach the email for the pothole reporting so that emails are sent and the issues is recorded publicly. Try it out.

Sorry to spam your blog, but this sounds all too familiar. I too was worried that my 311 requests were going in the trash, so we built this website in New Haven last month. www.seeclickfix.com (there's 170 tickets on it already)for publicly reporting potholes, graffiti, and other public nuisances. Also, anyone can comment or close a ticket and anyone can watch and receive alerts on tickets. If you want to embed the reporter in your blog http://www.seeclickfix.com/widget The only way they will be able to throw away your request for service is by fixing it.

Don't stop believing! I've recently reported two potholes, and they were patched up within two days. It was awesome.

Yes, it sure is easy reporting potholes on the city's site, but I think the reports are filed straight in the trash. I reported several major potholes in the last couple of months and have seen zero progress.

instead of complaining about the potholes in a blog posting maybe you should fill out the online form (http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/potholereport.htm) and report them so they get fixed. but that might be too easy and would give you nothing to whine about.
