Bah, Kristy Lee Cook Went Too Country
It was Lennon/McCartney Songbook night on Idol last night, and our quasi-local cutie pulled out a country version of "8 Days a Week." She looked nervous and uncertain of how it was going to go, despite her vocal prowess, which wound up iffy as a result. Witness:
She looked super cute, of course, but then she opened her mouth and it wasn't stellar. It wasn't hideous, as Cowell called it, but it wasn't stellar. And, at this point, when you've made it past hundreds of thousands of other people to stand on the stage at Top 12 week, it better be stellar and show that you can even get 12 times more stellar in the coming weeks. Especially when Carly Smithson—who literally blew our head off with her "Come Together"—and David Archuleta are on that same stage doing that same thing.
To be fair, Archuleta forgot the words to his song. But, he's Archuleta, and he'll survive because all of America wants to squish his face and hang him from our rearview mirrors. We're a little nervous for Kristy Lee. The only other eh performance came from the dredlock guy, whose name we can never remember Jason Castro, who did some song we can't remember. So it could also be his week to go.

I don't think Jason will go. He has a strong fan base and isn't as bad (in my opinion) as David Hernandez. One of the David's has to go. There are too many Davids for my taste. Kristy is definitely on the chopping block. That song was awful last night. It was downright FRANTIC. It hurt my ears. If she doesn't get kicked off it will be because smarmy David H. gets it. I wouldn't mind if Syesha or Ramiele went because they bore me to tears.
I'm still laughing about the idea of hanging David Archuleta's squished face from my rearview mirror! Haha.
Whose BAD IDEA was it to have Lennon/McCartney night, anyway? I love them both but they're really hard to cover well.
i like david hernandez! scandalous job history aside (he didn't do anything illegal, if the allegations are true), he's got a killer voice and a great stage presence. i think he belongs in the top 10, if not the top 5.
Sizzlesays,
I need lottery #'s...
