"Kurt Cobain" Still Living—and Spending—Like a Rock Star

j money

Kurt might be amused to learn that, since 2003, at least one jackass criminal has been using his social security number to make fraudulent purchases. Said jackass has apparently skimmed some £36 million—about 5,000 million US dollars these days—from the deceased rock star's estate.

"Mr. Cobain" might have continued his spending spree had he not slipped up in 2007; his purchase of a $3.2 million New Jersey mansion drew the attention of Courtney Love. Ever-vigilant and -cognizant Love claims she'd known of the fraud for some time. "No one believed me until now," she said recently. Given Love's track record for lucid honesty, that is hard to believe. But hey, she's obviously more with-it than the morons involved in the Jersey mansion's sale.

And her sense of humor remains intact. If her husband is still alive, Love says "he should probably get his ass back home."

He's probably hanging out at "Jimi Hendrix's place. Or maybe "Layne Staley's.

  • I think the underlining purpose (before my misguided attempt at currency conversion derailed the entire post) was that our U.S. Dollar blows harder than [insert witty celebrity insult here].

However the dollar stacks up against the euro, the currency of choice for this article was British pounds.

  • Yeah, that's cool. I never claimed to be a math major. I went to Evergreen.

I actually meant "five thousand million," Troy. Isn't that (exaggeration) how the dollar stacks up against the Euro now?

    Or Kristen Pfaff's.

I think your currency conversion tool may be off. Did you mean 5 million USD? or 5,000 USD?
