Heads Up: Sasquatch Lineup By Day

sasquatch08.jpg

Right on the heels of the announcement that the Mars Volta was added to the Sasquatch lineup, and right before tickets go on sale this Saturday, the three-day music festival has seen fit to delineate who will be playing on which day:

Saturday, May 24th
R.E.M. / Modest Mouse / M.I.A. / The New Pornographers / The National / Ozomatli / Beirut / Dengue Fever / Fleet Foxes / The Breeders / Okkervil River / Crudo (featuring Mike Patton & Dan The Automator) / Destroyer / The Little Ones / Dead Confederate / Grand Archives / David Bazan / Joshua Morrison / Vince Mira with the Roy Kay Trio / Throw Me The Statue / The Shaky Hands

Sunday, May 25th
The Cure / Death Cab For Cutie / Michael Franti & Spearhead / Blue Scholars / Cold War Kids/ Tegan & Sara / Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks / The Kooks / Mates of State / Rogue Wave / White Rabbits / The Heavenly States / 65daysofstatic / Sera Cahoone / The Blakes / The Cops/ J. Tillman / "Awesome"

Monday, May 26th
The Flaming Lips U.F.O. Show / The Mars Volta / Flight Of The Conchords / Rodrigo Y Gabriela / Built To Spill / The Hives / Matt Costa / Ghostland Observatory / Jamie Lidell / Battles / The Cave Singers / Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down / Pela / Kinski / Dyme Def / Say Hi / Siberian

Jeebus. That doesn't make it easier to decide which days to go and which to stay at home. We'll be damned if we spend all of Memorial Day weekend camping at the Gorge.

Ticket information:

$55 per day for the on-sale weekend only, beginning Saturday, March 8th at noon.
$65 per day beginning Monday, March 10th.
$75 week of the festival, beginning Monday, May 19th.
V.I.P. package tickets with special amenities also available.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 8th at noon and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com, sasquatchfestival.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone in Seattle (206) 628-0888, in Oregon (503) 224-4400, and in Eastern Washington (509) 735-0500.

Camping is available for May 23, 24, 25, 26 and reservations can be made when purchasing tickets via Ticketmaster.

For the most up-to-date information and/or lineup changes (will Pela still play the fest now that their lead singer broke his hand?), keep checking the Sasquatch website.

Flight of the Conchords?! Those guys are the muthaflippin.

Also, lol @ Blue Scholars and Michael Franti on the same night. WHO WILL BE THE WARMEST? WHO WILL BE THE MOST SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE?! I'm already biting my fingernails in anticipation!!

Could someone please tell me what "Flaming Lips UFO Show" is? I know who the Flaming Lips are, and am fully aware of their over-the-top stage production. But that's always been booked as the Flaming Lips. This is clearly something different...

Monday totally wins the "most cool artists" award.

Monday by far!

Even if I weren't already going on a trip that same weekend, that lineup still leaves me thinking that most of those acts will roll through Neumos, where I can see them without the hassles and shortened sets of a big festival.

Above people who said Monday is cool, can you explain which ones are cool? The two I know (and like) are Rodrigo y Gabriela and Ghostland. But I've seen them both already (they were both in Seattle within the last year).

Overall I'm really sad because the top 3 bands I wanted to see are on Saturday, which I can't make it to (REM, Modest Mouse, The National).

For Monday, I'd say do NOT miss Jamie Lidell - his Motown sound and DJ skills make for a good time, especially since the guy is a major showman.

Flaming Lips are always good, Flight of the Conchords should be funny, Built to Spill can be hit or miss (but when they're on, they're on), Battles should put on an epic show, and I've heard great things about Thao Nguyen live.
