You gotta try Georgetown Liquor Company (http://www.georgetownliquorcompany.com/) - their sandwiches are consistently amazing, their sides include house-made chips & salsa and the atmosphere is really good too.

I've had inconsistent experiences at Smarty Pants over the last few years. If Tim Ptak is in the kitchen, everything is great. If he's not, then the quality is really allover the map.

Another new South-end restaurant to try is Loretta's, recently opened over the bridge in South Park. It's owned by Scott Horrell of 9lb Hammer, and their food is superb. Apparently the pork-chop sandwich is to die for. (I don't eat pork, so I can't say definitively)

sorry...
-----------------------

the Georgetown Truck Stop.
It's a tiny little place kind of by Airport Way and Lucile (a little west of there...). They do little sandwiches and salads and soups and stuff. Good food, awesome folks there.

Georgetown now is what Ballard was 20 years ago.
Don't go there too much and ruin it...
