Don't Want to Go to Work Tomorrow? Just Get Shot

We're no experts in workplace happiness, but we firmly believe that if you hate your job enough to ask someone to shoot you so that you can play hooky, maybe a better thing to do would be to just, oh we don't know....maybe quit?!

According to the AP:

When he first spoke with deputies, Daniel Kuch told them he'd been the victim of a drive-by shooting while he was jogging Thursday. But detectives said Kuch later acknowledged that he asked a friend to shoot him so he could get some time off work and avoid a drug test.

No news on where the Paso, Wash., resident worked or what he did for a living (we assume he won't have a job after this, what with, you know, getting shot to avoid going in, and all). But, what amuses us perhaps the most about this story are the related stories msn.com chose to highlight at the end of the piece. Notice, particularly, related story number four:

  • I lived in some pretty shitty places, but none that I would think that getting shot is the best way to call out sick. One would imagine, that signals it's time to move to the city and go back to finish the G.E.D.

I have had some pretty shitty day jobs, but none that I would shoot myself to get some sick time off of. One would imagine, that signals it's time to look for a new job!
