Bill Simmons Lets Country Feel Sonics Fan's Pain

bsim.JPGThe other day, (probably) the most read and best sports columnist in the country, ESPN.com's Bill Simmons, asked Sonic fans to send him emails venting their frustrations over the current "situation."

The result was the longest piece he's ever posted.

As we read all the emails, we went through many emotions, sadly none were close to joy.

Ultimately (after we stopped throwing things), we were comforted that our fellow fans understood the situation so clearly--the foolishness of spending more public money on an arena, that the NBA cares not about people, rather their financial bottom line, and that on the long list of bad guys Howard Schultz is the ultimate villain here.

Thank you Bill.

Remove all sharp objects from your immediate vicinity and start reading.

UPDATE: Simmons has written a second post, and added more emails.

I'm glad you tackled this, its nice to see not everyone at ESPN has forgotten Seattle.

Simmons is the only writer worth reading at ESPN, the other sports geeks there can hardly manage to string a sentence together.

Seattle's woes are America's woes, the sooner the rest of the nation wises up the better.
