The Monk is my favorite bar in Seattle. It helps that I literally *can* "stumble" home from it... only 2 blocks.

BPP is the place to be starting this weekend....their Barleywine Bacchanal starts Friday. More than 30 barleywines on tap throughout the week. Seriously, by the time Hard Liver Fest at Brouwer's Cafe is over in a couple of weeks, I won't want to see another barleywine for 11 months.

That better be a dirty, dirty, incorrect rumor. If the Monk ever tries to shut down, I will do everything in my power to buy it. Then I'd have all my drunky friends wanting free drinks though. That is funny the dude in the pic has a tie - not normal for the monk. The girl with the fake stash makes up for it though.

It gets really hot in there in the summer. I had heard a rumor a few months back that it was closing :(
