If you weren't lucky enough to nab a pair of tickets to an April Eddie Vedder show via Pearl Jam's fan club presale or Ticketmaster's sale last Friday, you're only screwed if you aren't extremely wealthy—and charitable.
Though his six-city, expanded-to-10-date tour sold out within minutes, there are a few sweet seats reserved for big-time, big-money fans who also wouldn't mind seeing the West Memphis Three go free.
Per the press release:
For all sold out shows, there are now five (5) pair of second row seats available via auction on ticketmaster.com through noon PST Friday, March 7th. Ticket packages include an autographed, limited-edition tour poster.
Per Pearl Jam's site:
Proceeds from auction packages will support legal defense efforts for the West Memphis Three via the Damien Echols Legal Defense Fund. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse Miskelley (the WM3) have been in prison for 12 years for a crime they didn't commit. After years of waiting for the chance to demonstrate their innocence, the West Memphis Three will finally have hearings this Spring to introduce new DNA evidence proving they could not have committed the crimes for which they were convicted.
While we write this, said tickets for the April 2 Vancouver show stand at $190 each. The April 12 show at LA's Wiltern? $610 each.
But hell, if money's no object and you're going to travel to catch Eddie—and you'll have to, as there's no Seattle show—why not score two premier seats for his 4/10 Santa Barbara appearance?
A special auction package for the Santa Barbara concert will go up with the Santa Barbara public on sale this Friday [2/29]. The package includes two pair of front row seats, two premier hotel rooms and a special after-show chat with Eddie Vedder and others the night of the concert. Bidding for the Santa Barbara package begins this Friday at 10am PST and ends noon PST on Friday, March 14th.
Some of you Seattleites have the dough. Who's willing to plunk it down for a cause and to see Eddie up close? (If your schedule's too hairy, we could always go in your stead.)
