A Starbucks’ Customer Experience, Pre-Transforming Closure

tips

At the Starbucks in our West Seattle neighborhood this morning, a (chronically inattentive) cashier and a (disarmingly friendly) barista had the following exchange. Guess which employee is which.

SBUX employee #1 (apropos of nothing): I hope Starbucks is coughing up pizza tonight.

SBUX employee #2 (with a hint of sarcasm): Uh, that is incorrect. But Starbucks will be coughing up a bunch of espresso shots.

SBUX employee #1 (trailing off): Well, I’m going to miss dinner to be here…

Tip to CEO Schultz: Three hours may not be long enough to "energize" all Starbucks employees.

I cannot get over everyone's obsession with Starbucks lately. It's everywhere. I remember when Seattle adored them. They really put this city on the map and employed so many in the city. It's ugly now. Don't we have bigger fish to fry than this? Like maybe the mayor...the governor...anything of more importance than espresso?
