Can't Miss It: Wednesday

flowershow.jpgThe Northwest Flower and Garden Home Show -- hey, wait! Look, the gardening people already know about this. We're talking to you, non-flower-growing-people. If the winter is kicking your ass a bit and you're not especially allergic, head on down to the flower show and get some virtual spring on. We did this one year, and it really works wonders. You walk in, and it smells just like spring threw a dirt clod at you.

Again, for you newbies, it's a bit like a flower fair -- less like a line-up of Eliza Doolittles than a fantasy built out of dream-gardens. The landscapers all knock themselves out trying to impress with their little Edenic visions (see the video here, and here's the list of display creators). There are week, day, and half-day (after 3pm) passes (kids 5 and under get in free). The show runs through the 24th, 9am to 9pm, except Sunday, when it shuts down at 6pm.

9am - 9pm // Northwest Flower and Garden Home Show, Convention Center// Tickets: $19 day, $13 half-day, $8 students 25-and-under
