Perfect Spring Late Winter Day
Riding our bike to work this morning along Elliot Bay, we realized that we are going to make it. The dark, cold winter is finally getting ready to release its grip and, while we are sure to have more cold, wet days ahead, today is a sign of great things to come. Heck, it was warm enough for us to wear shorts while riding and we even took off our gloves and hat at a red light.
If we didn't know better, we'd call this the year's first spring day, but we do. It doesn't matter, we'll happily take a perfect late-winter day as a herald of things to come. Enjoy.

We didn't stop to take this picture today, but it was taken on a late winter day earlier this year and pretty much sums out how pretty it feels out there right now.

I hear that. I was thinking the same thing walking for lunch and seeing a bike messenger. Hurray! The bleakest winter in my recent memory has past!
I just spent my lunch hour sitting in the window, soaking up the warm rays from the sun. Aaaaah.
Hey! Stupid question:
Can the body absorb vitamin D through glass?
This happens every year, I call it the February Sucker Punch. Just when you think you're gonna survive, wham, another two months of shitty weather.
No,no Courtney.
You take this day and hold it's warmth and light in your heart. Don't rue it.
I know I sound like a hippy but I've been through this many times before too and am ok with more cold and rain because these pretty days will start popping up every couple of weeks or so, then every 10 days, then once a week... before you know it, we're there.
Herbisara: Ha! This was a question on Yahoo! Answers also asked by a Washington resident. Short answer, no. You need the UV exposure.
